I know this is going to sound crazy but my car needed about 800 dollars of work. It needed a new engine. Also, it will eventually need new tires and the exhaust needs fixed. It's a little loud. Anyway, I gave the car to a local junkyard; title and all but now I realized it'd be cheaper if I had just fixed the car instead of buying one like I intend on doing. Do junk yards allow you to buy the car back? Even if they already paid you for the car? The junkyard gave me $130 for my car. I accepted and it handed over. Can I buy it back?

I have a 2000 ford taurus and the transmission blew. My father says to fix it as he found someone who will charge btwn 1200-1500 to fix it. I say that its not worth putting so much money into it because the car is barley worth that. The auto guy said he'd fix it or get rid of it for us and he's pay $200 for the car. The car is in pretty good condition other wise. little rust, and one dent on the side door that could be fixed, not very big. Also the car has been well maintained along with brand new snow tires put on it. Only thing wrong with it besides the transmission is the heat. The shop tried everything but no heat, they have to keep flushing it every so often because the tube is clogged!?!?! idk…

What's with people these days taking cars out of the 70's, that just look old and trashy to begin with, and putting fancy tires/rims on it? I just don't see the point, the car still looks like a piece of junk!
