It's to compensate for what they are lacking. Even with new cars that people feel the need to trick out it's a total waste of money, most of them aren't even racing them. They just do it to look cool, or get some sorta respect.

Its a matter of taste. Just like clothes, some people think that if you put flashy stuff on rags, it makes them cool.

Actually, no they don't. People spend tens of thousands of dollars on custom paint jobs, effects, rims and tires. When these cars are completed, they look immaculate. And for the ones that do not do any touching up of the cars and merely throw rims on them, that's their own prerogative. It's a subculture like any other and only certain people can relate.

People have always taken old cars and fixed them up. It is not necessarily pimped out cars that you **** on. You are jealous of them because they are creative with new looks and loud music . Keep hating,that will get you nothing.
